AT&T REVS UP FOR 2008 WITH NEW PAINT SCHEME ON THE NO. 31 CHEVROLET DRIVEN BY JEFF BURTON
SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 21, 2007 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has a new look for Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) No. 31 Chevrolet driven by NASCAR Cup Series veteran Jeff Burton. Burton will be zipping around the track in a new paint scheme splashed with the AT&T logo. The stylish revamp coincides with the first full season of competition of the Car of Tomorrow, as well as RCR’s switch from a Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS to an Impala SS.
“AT&T is proud of its sponsorship of the No. RCR 31 ride, and we wanted to make sure the car would have a lasting impression while circling the track during the 2008 season,” said Tim McGhee, director of National Sponsorships for AT&T’s wireless unit.
“The entire AT&T Racing team is incredibly excited for the 2008 season, and the new paint scheme will be the icing on the cake,” said Burton, who finished eighth in this year’s Chase for the Championship standings. “Our goal is to win a championship, and with our new ride we’ll be taking the checkered flag in style.”
The new paint scheme will debut in early February at Speed Weeks in Daytona Beach, Fla., the official kickoff for the 2008 season.
